Meredith McFadden

Meredith is a passionate teacher, movement enthusiast, and firm believer in the healing power of yoga and Pilates. With over 20 years of teaching experience and a decade of helping others use movement as a tool for healing, she brings both depth and heart to every class.

Her lighthearted approach emphasizes the power of breath and the magic of syncing it with movement — something you'll hear her say often. Meredith creates intuitive practices that invite you to connect with your body’s inner wisdom, challenge yourself with care, and leave feeling both grounded and uplifted.

OWNER / LEAD TEACHER

  • Ann began practicing yoga to complement the demands of intensive physical training during her years as a competitive athlete. What started as a method to build strength, improve mobility and prevent injury, soon evolved into a deeper journey of self-discovery and wellness.

    In 2018, Ann completed her 200-Hour Teacher Training through now:yoga at Pure Yoga Pilates Studio. Since then, she has been passionate about sharing the transformative benefits of yoga with others. Her practice provides a sense of calm and mental grounding that continues to enhance her overall well-being, both on and off the mat.

    Ann’s teaching emphasizes the importance of working with the body—rather than against it—to build resilience and ease the physical and emotional stresses of everyday life. She is especially interested in exploring the mind-body connection as a path to personal wellness, and she guides her students with compassion, mindfulness, and a strong foundation in functional movement.

  • Carly began practicing yoga in 2016 while in graduate school. She danced throughout childhood and loved that practicing yoga not only allowed her to maintain flexibility and strength but also relieve anxiety. Carly took her first class at Pure Yoga in June 2017 after moving to Trolley Square. By July, she knew that she wanted to become a long-term member of the Pure Yoga community, not only as a client, but also as a teacher, and enrolled in the 200-Hour Teacher Training Program through Now:Yoga. Since completing her Yoga Teacher Training in June 2018, Carly completed a Barre Teacher Training in October 2018 and a Kids Yoga Teacher Training in December 2018. Currently, Carly teaches barre and yoga classes at the studio. She also leads Kids Yoga Clubs at Linden Hill Elementary School where she works full-time as a School Psychologist. When not working or practicing yoga, Carly enjoys spending time with her two cats and a book, taking long walks outside, or exploring new places with her husband and her baby boy!

  • Jessica first came to yoga class to help her deal with stress and anxiety. She felt the effects right away. She found it was an effective way to help her deal with the roller coaster of life. Inspired by the practice, she enrolled in teacher training in September 2015 with the intent to heal and share with others. She has been practicing yoga for 10 years. She has no athletic background, but she also found yoga allowed her to get in shape gradually without competition. Jessica started taking Barre classes over a year ago and loved it. She got certified to teach in October 2016. Outside of yoga, Jessica loves to run and hang out at home with her husband and two dogs.

  • Jessica began practicing yoga regularly in 2000 and completed her 200-hour RYT training with now:yoga in 2013. Her approach to teaching and practicing yoga is captured in the quote from Lao Tzu, “The skillful traveler has no fixed destination and is not intent on arriving.” The practice of yoga for Jessica is not in accomplishing an end goal and but focusing on staying open to each moment as it unfolds. She infuses her teaching with principals of Tai Chi and chi gung. She draws from many different teaching styles, and her classes vary from a gentle restorative class to a vigorous flow. She feels especially inspired to introduce yoga to new audiences including individuals who benefit from a gentle, modified, or restorative practice. She has also taught in schools and offices and is dedicated to a consistent home practice which sometimes includes her husband and three daughters. Besides yoga, Jessica is an avid bread baker who loves to share her organic homemade loaves.

  • Marylouise first discovered yoga in the early 2000s as part of a fitness routine. She soon learned there was much more to the practice than just a physical benefit.

    Throughout the COVID pandemic Marylouise maintained her yoga practice at home and realized there was a profound mental and emotional benefit as well. It helped to ease significant stress and general anxiety. An added benefit was that the flow of the practice appealed to the former figure skater and dancer in her. Finding music inspirational for both movement and the creative mind, coming to the yoga mat became a healing and joyous occasion. She enrolled in 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Pure Yoga and was certified in May 2023.

    Marylouise's yoga classes focus on linking the breath with the movement, becoming centered, being fully present in the moment, and encouraging acceptance. Her classes include an ease in flowing in and out of poses combined with mindfulness to provide a true full body experience.

  • After working in Corporate America, training and coaching in personal development, Rita returned to yoga and Pilates in search of strength and flexibility. She is a registered yoga teacher, having completed her 200-hour RYT training with now:yoga in early 2016. She recently completed her Pilates mat training. Expect her classes to be thoughtful yet lighthearted with an emphasis on form and technique.

  • Rocio first found yoga as part of her healing routine for chronic headaches. After more than 13 years of practice, she enrolled in teacher training and completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Now Yoga in May 2013.
    A social worker by trade, Rocio’s caring demeanor and attitude comes through in her teaching style. Rocio fully embraces the mind-body connection in her daily practice as well as in her classes. She also places emphasis on the breath. Rocio’s classes combine synchronized movements and breathing to help students connect with their true self and inner beauty. Rocio specializes in corporate and educational yoga classes for schools and companies dedicated to employee’s wellness.

  • Elaine, a retired corporate lawyer, former competitive runner, and proud mother of three adult children, came to yoga twenty years ago in an effort to avoid injury when training for races. She quickly discovered the benefits of stress reduction and joy of pursuing inner calmness that came with a regular yoga practice. In 2022 Elaine completed the 200-hour RYT course at Pure Yoga and in 2025 she completed her Chair Yoga training with Accessible Yoga School. As an instructor, Elaine is committed to making the benefits of yoga accessible to practitioners of all levels and believes that every student should leave yoga class feeling better than when they arrived.  When she is not practicing yoga, Elaine spends her time working with nonprofits that serve the Wilmington community, exploring new hiking destinations, and spending quality time with her cat Louie.

  • Leslie began practicing yoga 25 years ago after the birth of her first child. With an accounting degree and a background in business, she has worked in industry, banking and the non-profit sectors. Leslie currently works as a Business Manager for a small private school by day and loves her job, although she wishes it left her more time to practice yoga. She completed her 200-hour teaching training with now:yoga in 2018 and prior to that was a fitness instructor and provided personal training for active older adults. She has a keen interest in anatomy and body mechanics and brings this knowledge to her teaching in order to make yoga accessible and enjoyable for all people. With a strong focus on "beginning within" she focuses on helping her students personalize their practice to meet themselves on their mats in the present moment. When not at work or in the studio, Leslie enjoys knitting, crochet, and jewelry making as well as spending time in nature.

  • Meagan started practicing yoga shortly after graduating college. As an officer in the Army, she used it as a way to destress. After getting out of the military and moving to Wilmington, Meagan found Pure Yoga in 2018 while looking for a place to deepen her practice. She took YTT through Pure Yoga in 2019 and has been teaching ever since.

    Growing up as a competitive swimmer, Meagan developed a passion for being active. She is also a certified spin and CrossFit instructor. She loves bringing variety and energy to every yoga practice. She’s a firm believer that yoga can be accessible for everyone, regardless of experience or skill level.

    While not working her day job as an HR manager or teaching fitness classes, Meagan loves spending time with husband, two daughters, and two cats. They love traveling, roller coasters, and finding little adventures both near and far.

  • Emily started yoga to explore movement and exercise after getting diagnosed with a heart condition over a decade ago. Yoga became a part of rediscovering the strength, trust, and power of the body. Emily’s journey with yoga has led to self-discovery beyond physical well-being. She’s learned to embrace her strengths and weaknesses and cultivate a stronger sense of kindness and compassion. In 2024, Emily completed her Yoga Teacher Training. Now, she balances her work as a clinical social worker in the community with her passion for yoga. When she’s not working, you can find her lost in a good book, crocheting, or spending quality time with her husband and two adorable pups. Emily’s classes aim to create a safe space for everyone to explore their yoga practice with curiosity and kindness as they walk onto the mat and back to their daily lives.
